Did you know that you’re His POIEMA
His workmanship
Jesus created you His vessel
For soul friendship
To do good works
That others would see
The difference is Him
In you and me
The work is prepared
In advance
We need to be ready
Any given chance
Nothing of your own doing
Keep from pride and swelling of self
It’s ONLY in Christ’s amazing grace
We stand in Salvation’s wealth
Such richness of mercy
Overwhelming adoration
Of the King who dwells in hearts
Beyond His Chosen Nation
To live in complete fulfilment
No other NAME will do
JESUS CHRIST the Lord
Is making a masterpiece out of YOU!
( Inspired by Ephesians 2:8-10 ” For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, [*POIEMA, Greek word for “workmanship”] created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”)

God has before the foundations of the world outlined good works for all of us to do, but we only find them out and are equipped to do them in Jesus.

Hi Kingsley, thank you for you comment. Yes you are so right. Good works are nothing if not in Christ. All for His Glory.

Thank you too Jessie. Your poem ‘God’s Masterpiece’ reiterated fundamental truths and realities that I have garnered from my study of the book of Ephesians. It also consolidated some truths I shared in my blog post ‘Goals pursuit and alignment: Grit + Grace’ two weeks ago. So, I thought reading similar lines from another author will drive these truths deeper down the heart of my audience, hence I reblogged.
More grace to you as you continue to wield your pen to reveal divine truths.
